David W. Moore, Jr., with Hardy-Heck-Moore, Inc., will be discussing the newly updated Field Guide to Gas Stations in Texas, prepared for TxDOT, which provides guidance for surveying and evaluating National Register of Historic Places eligibility of historic-age gas stations.

About the presenter:
David Moore is a historian and co-founder of Hardy-Heck-Moore, Inc., an Austin-based historic preservation planning and management firm. David is a native Texan who graduated from the University of Texas with a degree in history. He began his professional career at the Texas Historical Commission where he prepared National Register nominations and assisted with historic resources surveys. He resigned from the THC in 1980 and worked as a free-lance historian before co-founding HHM in 1983. Since then, he has worked on a wide range of projects involving the documentation, evaluation, and management of historic resources. He has worked in all 50 states and Puerto Rico and worked with public sector clients at the federal, state, county, and local levels as well as with private corporations, individuals and non-profit groups.
